Jim’s practice focuses on general and complex civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. His work includes civil litigation, arbitration, mediation, defense of property and injury claims, contract disputes, business disputes and unfair business practices, claims involving trusts and estates, and product distribution disputes.
Jim has been a partner at the firm since 1996. He frequently handles lawsuits in the state of Washington, as well as Oregon, and has represented clients in lawsuits in numerous other states and federal courts. He serves as an arbitrator for Multnomah County Circuit Court, Arbitration Services of Portland, and the FINRA Dispute Resolution. Jim is a trained mediator, serves as a volunteer mediator for Multnomah County and Tillamook County Courts, and also represents clients as their advocate in mediations.
Jim has edited and authored various continuing legal education publications and articles, including chapters in Advising Oregon Business, and Insurance.
