Amy graduated from the University Of Oregon School Of Law and holds a Masters of Law in Taxation from the University Of Washington School Of Law. She has been practicing law since 2001 and is licensed to practice in Oregon and Washington. Amy’s practice emphasizes estate planning and administration for small and large taxable estates, as well as business succession planning, income and gift tax planning, charitable planning and estate planning for non-citizens.
Amy has taught continuing legal education seminars for the Oregon State Bar and others on both estate planning and administration matters. She served two terms on the Oregon State Bar’s Estate Planning Section Executive Committee, and is a chapter co-author of the Oregon Bar’s probate manual, Administering Oregon Estates. Amy is a past chair of the Oregon State Bar’s New Lawyers Division Pro Bono Subcommittee, and was the recipient of the 2005 Public Service Award from the Oregon State Bar. Amy is a former board member and treasurer of Bradley Angle House, Oregon’s oldest and largest domestic violence agency, and a former board member of The Theodore Roosevelt Women’s Scholarship Association benefiting graduates of Roosevelt High School in North Portland, Amy’s alma mater. Amy has worked with the Multnomah County Probate Court and local area stakeholders to create rules for mediation in probate matters, and was the original Fundraising chair of the non-profit organization now known as Guardian Partners which educates guardians and fiduciaries and provides advocates for protected persons in Multnomah County. Amy has mediation training and is a former member of the Oregon Mediation Association. She is a member of Oregon Women Lawyers and the Estate Planning Council of Portland. She was chosen as a Rising Star in Oregon Super Lawyers five years in a row, and has been recognized multiple time by Best Lawyers in America, and as a Five Star Wealth Manager by Portland Monthly Magazine.
